Piggybak Inc. (“Piggybak,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a trusted social platform that allows its users to seamlessly track, organize and share great places.

Piggybak wrote this Privacy Policy to help you understand how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal information we receive from users of our services, which are accessible via the Piggybak mobile device application (the “App”). Our website, App and other Piggybak services are collectively referred to as the “Services.” Any information that is collected via our Services is covered by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. Please note that unless we define a term in this Privacy Policy, all capitalized terms have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service. Please read carefully and accept the terms of this Privacy Policy before using our Services.


If you create an account with Piggybak, we’ll collect certain information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email address, picture and phone number (“Personally Identifiable Information” or “PII”). We may also collect profile information that you provide and maintain such as a username and password. On Piggybak, your name and username are always listed publicly, including on your profile page and in search results, and you can use either your real name or a pseudonym.

If you create an account using your login credentials from one of your Social Network Service Accounts (“SNS Accounts”), we’ll be able to access and collect your name, email address, profile picture and other Personally Identifiable Information that your privacy settings on the SNS Account permit us to access. If you create an account through one of your SNS Accounts, we may also collect your gender, date of birth, current city, and other information that is not considered PII because it cannot be used by itself to identify you.

We may also request access to permissions related to your account such as friends and contacts, and you may choose to grant or deny us access to each individual permission. Please note that we may collect and use personal information you supply to us concerning your preferences and interests expressed during use of our App. As a platform for organizing and sharing recommendations with other users, Piggybak may collect and publicly display content (e.g., photos, recommendations, comments and other activity) that you and other users choose to post about businesses to our Services.

Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services as well as to administer your use, navigation and enjoyment of our Services. Specifically, for example, we use the information we collect to offer you customized content, such as suggested venues to try or suggested people to follow. We may use information you provide to help your friends and contacts find you on Piggybak. We may also show you advertisements or promotions that could be of interest to you.

Information Collected Using Log Data, Cookies and other Technologies. We use log data and automated data collection tools such as cookies and similar technologies to collect certain information.

Log Data. Our servers automatically record information about how people use our Services. This information, referred to as “Log Data,” may include, but is not limited to, your device’s IP address, browser type, operating system, the web pages you were visiting directly before and after you accessed our Services, the features of our Services that you browsed and the time spent on those features, search terms and other user statistics. We use Log Data to administer the Services and to analyze (or have third parties analyze) the Log Data to improve, customize and enhance our Services by expanding their features and functionality and tailoring them to our users’ needs and preferences.

Cookies and similar technologies. Depending on how you are accessing our Services, we may use cookies and related technologies such as web beacons and local storage to collection certain information about how you use Piggybak. “Cookies” are small text files that can be placed on your computer or mobile device that uniquely identifies your browser or device. Cookies and other technologies allow a site or services to know if your computer or device has visited it before. We may use both session Cookies and persistent Cookies to identify that you’ve logged in to the Services and to tell us how and when you interact with our Services. We may also use Cookies to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on our Services and to customize and enhance our Services. Session Cookies will stay on your device until you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your computer or mobile device until you or your browser delete them. Some third parties that we engage (such as third party advertising partners) may also use their own Cookies on your computer or mobile device. Note that this Privacy Policy covers only our use of Cookies and does not include use of Cookies by such third parties. Although most browsers automatically accept Cookies, you can modify your cookie settings to stop automatically accepting Cookies or to prompt you before accepting Cookies. Please note, however, that if you set your browser to disable Cookies or other technologies, you may impact the functionality or accessibility of certain portions or features of our Services. “Web Beacons” (also known as “pixel tags” or “clear GIFs”) are small strings of code that allow us to deliver small graphic images (usually invisible) on a web page or in an email. Web beacons that may be included on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services, to monitor how many visitors view our Services, and to monitor the effectiveness of our advertising.

Location and Device Information. When you use our App, we may collect and store information about your location by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation or by accessing your mobile device’s GPS coordinates or approximate location if you enable location services on your device. We may use location information to enhance and personalize our Services for you. To the extent you do not want us to collect location information, you may disable that feature on your mobile device. We may also collect your device’s device identifier, user settings, and operating system. To learn more about what information your device makes available to us, please check the policies of your software provider or device manufacturer.

Metadata. Metadata is usually technical data that is associated with User Content. For example, Metadata can describe how, when and by whom a piece of User Content was collected and how that content is formatted.

Users can add or may have Metadata added to their User Content including a hashtag (e.g., to mark keywords when you post a photo), geotag (e.g., to mark your location to a photo), comments or other data. This functionality makes your User Content more searchable by others and more interactive. If you geotag your photo or tag your photo using other's APIs then, your latitude and longitude will be stored with the photo and searchable (e.g., through a location or map feature) if your photo is made public by you in accordance with your privacy settings.


We may use your personal information (a) to provide and improve our Services as well as other features and content; (b) to administer your account and your use of our Services; (c) to better understand your needs and interests; (d) to fulfill requests you may make; (e) to personalize your experience and content; and (f) to provide or offer software updates and product announcements.

We use information we obtain for the above purposes and to analyze use of the Services and for technical administration of the Services, to increase the functionality and user-friendliness of the Services, to better tailor the Services to your needs, to generate and derive useful data and information concerning our users, and to verify that visitors to the Services meet the criteria required to process their requests.


  1. A. With Your Consent or at Your Request. We will display certain personal information you provide such as your name, username, picture, current city and personal preferences on your profile page and elsewhere through the Services. Any information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want all other Piggybak users to know about you. We will share your personal information with third party sites or platforms, at your discretion, such as when you authorize a third party web client or application to access your account or publish your activity on Piggybak to them.

  2. B. Third Party Service Providers. We may engage third party service providers to work with us to administer and provide our Services. These third party service providers may receive access to your Personally Identifiable Information subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and only for the purpose of performing services on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions.

  3. C. Third Party Advertising Partners. Online advertisers typically use third party advertising partners to audit the delivery and performance of advertisements on their websites and apps. As such, Piggybak may share certain information such as cookie data which would allow third party advertising partners to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you.

  4. D. Business Transactions. Information that we collect from our users is considered to be a business asset. In the event we are involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, dissolution, reorganization or sale of assets, such information may be transferred to a third party in connection with the transaction.

  5. E. Law and Harm. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary (a) to comply with a law, regulation, legal request, or government request; (b) to protect the safety, rights or property of the public, any person or Piggybak; or (c) to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

F. Public Information: We may share or disclose your public information, such as your public user profile information, recommendation activity and commentary, or the people you follow or that follow you. Your privacy settings control whether certain profile information is made public. Other information you provide, like your name and username, is always public on Piggybak as long as your account remains active.

  7. G. Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to gather information about how users engage with our Services.   8. H. Aggregated or non-personally identifiable information: We may also share aggregated or non-personally identifiable information with our partners, advertisers or others. For example, we may tell an advertiser on Piggybak how many times a venue has been added to users’ recommendation lists or wish lists.

  9. I. Transferring your Information: Your information collected through our Services may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Piggybak, its affiliates or third party service providers maintain facilities.

Piggybak, its affiliates, or third party service providers may transfer information that we collect about you, including Personally Identifiable Information, across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. If you are located in regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from United States law, please note that we may transfer your information, including PII, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction.

By registering on Piggybak and using our Services, you consent to the transfer of information to the United States or any other country in which Piggybak, its affiliates or third party service providers maintain facilities and the use and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.


If you are a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, modify, or delete any personal information provided to us and associated with your account. If you completely delete all such information, then your account may become deactivated. You can also permanently delete your account by contacting us. We may retain archived copies of your information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as backup, archival, addressing fraud or spam, or audits.

In the event of the death of a Piggybak user, please contact us. We will usually conduct our communication via email; should we require any other information, we will contact you at the email address you have provided in your request.

Piggybak also holds the right to remove, delete or deactivate a user from our Services if they do not comply within Piggybak’s Terms of Service.

  1. 5. OPT-OUT

We may periodically send you newsletters and e-mails that directly promote our Services. When you receive such promotional communications from us, you will have the opportunity to “opt-out” (by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive). We may send you certain communications regarding the Services and you will not be able to opt out of those communications – for example, communications regarding updates to our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy.


If you choose to invite someone to the Services through our "Invite" feature, you may select a person directly from the contacts list on your device and send a text, email, or message from your personal account. If you choose to share a venue or recommendation in Piggybak, you may select a person from your list of followers, list of those you follow, or contact list and send a text, email, or message from your personal account. You understand and agree that you are responsible for any charges that apply to communications sent from your device, and because this invitation is coming directly from your personal account, Piggybak does not have access to or control this communication.


Our Services may contain links to websites and services that are owned or operated by third parties (each, a “Third Party Service”). Any information that you provide on or to a Third Party Service or that is collected by a Third Party Service is provided directly to the owner or operator of the Third Party Service and is subject to the owner’s or operator’s privacy policy. We’re not responsible for the content, privacy or security practices and policies of any Third Party Service. To protect your personal information, we recommend that you carefully review the privacy policies of all Third Party Services that you access.

  1. 8. DO NOT TRACK

Our Site does not have the capability to respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from various web browsers.

We take reasonable administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect the information that we collect from or about you from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information. In the event that personal information is compromised as a breach of security, we will promptly notify our users in compliance with applicable law.


Piggybak’s Services are not directed at children under the age of 13. If you learn that we have collected personal information from your minor child without your consent, please contact us.

Your continued use of Piggybak or the Services after any such changes to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
